Flotsam And Jetsam No Place For Disgrace

In maritime law, flotsam, jetsam, lagan, and derelict are specific kinds of shipwreck. The words have specific nautical meanings, with legal consequences in the law of admiralty and marine salvage.

  1. Flotsam and jetsam is used to refer to small or unimportant items that are found together, usually in an untidy way. We found cornflake packets, bottles, and all the flotsam and jetsam of the kitchen.
  2. Buy: and Jetsam 'Hammerhead' from the album 'D.
  3. Eventually the band renamed itself 'Flotsam and Jetsam' after writing a song inspired from a chapter of J. Tolkien's The Two Towers. We made our live debuts in local clubs and in California and had the opportunity to play with bands such as Megadeth, Armored.
  4. 'Flotsam' and 'jetsam' are nautical terms, describing goods washed overboard by waves (flotsam) or deliberately thrown overboard by a ship's crew (jetsam). Founded in 1981 as Paradox by Kelly David-Smith, Pete Mello and Dave Goulder, later joined by Jason Newsted who left the band in 1986 in order to join Metallica.
